The Most Rev. Pedro Dean, D.D, who was then Archbishop of Palo, invited the Sacramentinos to administer the
Archdiocesan Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament located at Barangay Tigbao, Tacloban City, and the invitation was accepted. On August 1, 1997, the Shrine was officially turned over to the Sacramentinos, who dedicated themselves to promoting love for the Eucharist and Eucharistic adoration. Their efforts were recognized with the elevation of this ecclesial community to a quasi-parish in 2003, and finally to full Parish status on August 2, 2004. Fr. Francisco “Kit” Mendoza was its first parish priest.
